Bookkeeping Business Accounts, Rachel and Dave’s Background:
Rachel studied business studies and accountancy and initially managed an accounts department for a new branch of a housing association. She then start her own business and initially worked with a medical company controlling their accounts on a self employed basis. From 2005 RCH Accounts has continued to expand helping small businesses manage their accounts and from 2007, Dave joined the business.
RCH Accounts specialises in helping small businesses set up and maintain an efficient accounting system, and in 2006 Rachel was runner up in the IAB Awards for Bookkeeper of the Year.
After leaving school I joined a housing association in the accounts department. After progressing within the company, I was then given day release to study business studies at collage. Then I went on to study for further accountancy qualifications.
I moved to a new branch of housing association where they sold retirement properties rather than renting. I was then in complete charge of the accounts for this business.
In 1989 I moved to a medical company to run their accounts, to sort out their accounting mess of which I quickly achieved. In 1993 I was made redundant and so decided to go self employed. I was also very lucky to retained the medical company’s bookkeeping on one day a week basis, this then enabled me to start up my own bookkeeping business. At this point, I did a mixture of employment and self employment and therefor gaining more experience within different businesses and industries. In 2005 I final went completely self employed.
My love for accounts has driven the business forward and in 2007 my husband David joined me in the business. My forte is taking on accounts with problems that need complete restructuring or straightening up.
In 2006 I was awarded runner up in the IAB Awards for “Bookkeeper of the Year”. I was presented with my award at the Houses of Parliament London, of which I am incredibly proud.
